• Spend 12-18 months in the design office, depending on which project you work on.
  
• You will undertake and finalise commisioning, usually 2-3 months, so this period will involve swings to site.
  
• Mining projects in the areas of iron ore, coal, precious metals, copper processing, in Australia, Asia and Africa.

This role is suited to a Degree qualified Electrical Engineer with somewhere between 6-10 years experience from an Australian consultancy. The rest will be determined by attitude and motivation at interview.

4. Design and installation of Instrumentation and control systems.

• Power system modelling, protection system design, switchgear commissioning, HV and LV reticulation design and detailed design.
• Deliver scope of work, layout drawings, cable block diagrams, schematic diagrams and termination diagrams.
• Assist in programming the HMI for the SCADA system.
• Select cable sizes for HV and LV cables on site, create initial load list for Port and Mine and revise single line diagrams.
• Earth grid calculation to verify earth grid resistance at the Port.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have at least 6 years solid EPCM Mining experience, ideally including some Iron Ore and Copper.

• A healthy balance of Design, commissioning and Project management
• successful completion within budgeted time and cost constraints

Skills required:

• Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience of PLC/SCADA Design and configuration/ programming
• Prepared to work independently and supervise the project and system engineers on site during commissioning phase of project.
• Providing guidance in technical matters to other engineers in the team.
• Solid analytical/problem solving skills and technical skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Able to work as a team member and capable of interfacing and managing with a wide range of personalitiesBachelor of Electrical Engineering essential. 6+ years of experience.
