ELECTRICAL ENGINEER $175-160K Design to commision
- Spend 12-18 months in the design office, depending on which project you work on.
- You will undertake and finalise commisioning, usually 2-3 months, so this period will involve swings to site.
- Mining projects in the areas of iron ore, coal, precious metals, copper processing, in Australia, Asia and Africa.
- Project sizes from $30-$80 Million, would you rather project manage your own projects or be a small piece in big project?
Whilst there are plenty of jobs out there for good Electrical Engineers, the great roles are few and far between, and this is one of them. If you have been questioning how to get ahead in your career, or maybe spending way too much time in the design office, than this one to consider.

Initial involvement will include engineering and design of electrical systems for a WA-based Mining Project.
Design, tender and procure electrical equipment for onsite power plant, LV power distribution network, MV milling equipment, distribution substations and LV MCCs, LV power distribution to process plant loads and infrastructure loads.
Your focus will be from start to finish on this major Gold project, however the role is quite dynamic in the sense that you’ll be looking after a multitude of projects, all within the Minerals and Rare Metals commodity. Most of these projects are currently in feasibility study and detailed design phase.
Bachelor of Electrical Engineering. Leadership credentials are very important as you will be in front of a lot of Major Mining clients.
10+ years EPCM Mining experience, with the following skill set:
1. Engineering, design and installation of electrical power systems;
2. Power System Analysis;
3. Control and protection of electrical power systems;
4. Design and installation of Instrumentation and control systems.

Combination of LNG, magnetite, iron ore and alumina projects in an electrical/instrumentation/control capacity.
Perfect role to develop leadership skills as you will be assisting with training and working autonomously at times.

In the long-term--> opportunity to branch into project management.
Involving.......
- Power system modelling, protection system design, switchgear commissioning, HV and LV reticulation design and detailed design.
- Deliver scope of work, layout drawings, cable block diagrams, schematic diagrams and termination diagrams.
- Assist in programming the HMI for the SCADA system.
- Select cable sizes for HV and LV cables on site, create initial load list for Port and Mine and revise single line diagrams.
- Earth grid calculation to verify earth grid resistance at the Port.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have at least 6 years solid EPCM Mining experience, ideally including some Iron Ore and Copper.

- Minerals & Metals experience required with equipment specification for the various materials handling design, including: car dumpers, reclaimer, hopers, conveyers.
An electrical engineering degree with 10-15 years mining and minerals processing consulting experience.
